My mom has had her Robot-Coupe food processor for over 30 years and it is still running like a champ.  Can you believe that?  30 years.  There are not many appliances that will still work as effectively as the day you got them for essentially a lifetime.

Magimix recently sent me the Magimix by Robot-Coupe 14-cup food processor to review and I have to tell you that I now see and believe how and why my mother’s machine has lasted as long as it has.

There are so many nice features to tell you about with this food processor it is hard to know where to begin.

The Magimix by Robot-Coupe food processor is so much quieter than other machines that I have used in the past, yet the motor is very efficient and powerful.  One of the features that I love the most is that this food processor comes with 3 different sized bowls that all fit inside each other.  I used to use two separate food processors:  one small and one larger machine, but it is a challenge to make room to store the footprints of two different machines in my limited cupboard space.  Now that I have the Robot-Coupe, I have one motor base with the 3 bowls that nestle inside each other and don’t take up any extra storage space.  And the best part of having the 3 different bowls is that you can use them for different purposes as you cook and don’t have to wash your bowl in between each different task.

There are 4 different stainless steel slicing and grating discs, 2 blades, a dough blade and an egg whisk that come with the Magimix by Robot-Coupe food processor.  All of these parts can safely be washed in the dishwasher which is a huge timesaver.  I also love that there is a regular-sized feed tube and an extra large feed tube so that you can easily fit anything into the tube that you are slicing or grating, which again saves time by not forcing you to do a lot of chopping before you can fit items into the processor.

Last week, I used my Magimix by Robot-Coupe food processor for 2 very different tasks, and it performed above my expectations for both.  This first dish that I used the large bowl for was this Peach Blueberry Pie.  I tossed the ingredients for the crumb topping into the bowl with the large blade, and within just a few pulses, I had the well-blended coarse crumbs that I was looking for.

The second dish that I used my food processor for was this Summer Minestrone Soup that I made.  I know that soup in this heat sounds a little crazy, but I love soup all year round and I like that it lets you incorporate fresh summer vegetables into a one-pot meal.  I again used the large bowl of the Magimix along with the larger slicing disc to zip through preparing all of these veggies in no time.

Robot-Coupe is a company based in France and they actually developed the first food processor over 40 years ago.  Magimix by Robot-Coupe food processors are available in the U.S. exclusively at Williams-Sonoma.

Magimix provided me with the Robot-Coupe 4200XL Food Processor for review, but all opinions expressed are, as always, my own.

Wow, I’ve never even heard of Magimix! I do love a good food processor though and the fact that your Mom’s is still working after 30 years says a LOT!
